Sunday Stash #61

I have a confession. When I started quilting five years ago, I mainly bought fabric online. Boy, did I buy fabric online. There were deals, steals, and too-pretty-to-pass-up fabrics that somehow landed in my online shopping cart. Heck, some of these joints even offered free shipping if you spent enough. I accepted that challenge readily and often. Ahem.

Then I joined a guild that held their monthly meeting in of all places, a fabric shop. Uh oh. So once a month I am able to touch, select, and purchase lovely fabrics and notions. The shop even gives us a 15% discount on regular-priced merchandise. They also have a large sale area.

My new hobby resulted in my wall o' fabric, which Inspector Gadget lovingly refers to as our "retirement." I have no idea what he's talking about.

I ventured into Wandering Stitches Quilting Studio the other day. It's only 3 miles from my house. I could walk if I was a New Yorker. Anyone else smell trouble? They didn't carry fabrics before, but now carry quite a few. Trouble. Especially when they bundle pretty fabrics in a sorbet bowl and tie a ribbon around it.

There's also another fabric store called Quilter's Cove that is only six miles from the house. I love supporting small businesses since I run one myself, so my online purchases have diminished somewhat. But what's that you say? XYZ Quilts A Lot is having a sale? Send me the link!

But first, I'm going to tackle this pile of fabric today. It's out of control.
