Scrappy Love

I sure am enjoying all the scrappy quilt projects in blogland. Scrappy quilts will always be my favorite. Never have been a matchy-matchy girl. I dug into my pre-cut scraps and gave this Scrap Jar Stars block by Gigi's Thimble a whirl. I might have to try a couple more of these.

It's 10:30 am, and I just put my lunch in to heat up. Inspector Gadget caved and ordered a new microwave. It's on back order. I think it's been fun teaching the kids how we reheated (and heated) stuff in the olden days. I never thought I'd say this, but that toaster oven has come in quite handy. Those hooligans moved that monstrosity into my kitchen when I was out of town a few years ago. I might have to buy a typewriter and make those youngins type their college papers on it. An electric typewriter of course, I'm not that ornery.

  1. You make me laugh. I'd never used a toaster oven till my husband and I married and he uses our constantly! Like 3 mornings a week he makes a breakfast sandwich and then puts it in the toaster oven to melt the cheese. At first I was like what is this thing I will never use it. But over the years, I've found it's great for reheating food you want crispy (instead of mushy in the microwave) and cooking garlic bread slices or quick toast. I use it way more than I ever thought I would.
p.s. Love that star. I pinned one just the other day.

  3. Hey, toaster ovens are THE THING! Ditch the toast part, that's useless. But the little oven, that's heaven! You don't heat up the whole kitchen and things are done so fast. Like Kelly said, a late-in-life discovery.

    Great scraps!
