Back in Black

I started this Touch of Amish BOM in 2009 and it became a UFO probably around vacation time. I was searching for solids yesterday for my Mondrian project and guess what I found? I did the August block this morning and hope to get to September later today.

More playing in the scrap bags. All the cool kids are taking 15 minutes and making these fun blocks! They really are fun and relaxing to make. Ten more days of blogging for Blogtoberfest. Can I make it?

A Little Amish

I need to add some borders and play around with some quilting. If it wasn't so rainy here today, I'd shoot the other tops I worked on this week and show them. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow. I'm not bettin' my bottom dollar! We need the rain though! I'd like to see this book. Can anyone recommend it?

Somebody Stop Me!

Name that movie. First it was wonky houses, now it's string blocks. I can't stop! This one is for Tonya's Lazy Gal Liberated Amish 2010 Get Together. My inspiration was the No. 60 Roman Stripes quilt.
I want to make several more for this challenge, but I thought I'd give this one a try yesterday. It's only 20" x 24" but it did utilize a few scraps. If you get a chance check out the Get Together and the lovely Amish quilts in the book. Wow! I think I'm string block satiated, so it's on to something else. Laundry would be nice...

Stay tuned for the big giveaway...you won't have to wait for my laundry to get caught up. I'm thinking that might happen by summer. We're not used to all these winter clothes in Florida. Even my Yank husband is complaining about the "cold" weather here. I know, I know, we're big babies!
