I'm Probably at Work

I started this paper pieced block at Sew Day and finished it up at home. I may have an idea of where to use it. I started a Mary Engelbreit baking themed quilt a while ago. Now to unearth that little project. Our guild has a UFO (unfinished object) dare for members. I haven't had the heart to fill out my list, but maybe I'll take a day to document my attention span of a gnat. Or maybe I'll just start a new project. : P

Look at the pretty fabric from the Modern Quilt Guild and Michael Miller. It's their "Petal Pinwheels" collection. I really like it, such great colors. Citrus is my thing. The challenge is to make something quilted. By July 25. Doable, even for a slow poke like me.

Julie gifted me a bag of gorgeous selvages at Sew Day. She loves Kaffe fabrics more than me if that's possible. There are some Brandon Mably and and Phillip Jacob lovelies in there too.

I used a few to make Julie a coaster. The rest went into my collection. I just love playing with them. It's about time for a bigger selvage project. I have four selvage string blocks made, so maybe I'll just add to those.

Whipped up a little pouch while watching a movie. The jellybeans are getting low, but I bought the "kids" Target clearance candy since the Easter Bunny stiffed them candy wise.

Hope your week is happy!

Happy Sunday!

We loved these Turkey Sriracha Meatballs. Just a few ingredients and then pop them into the oven to bake. The sauce is the bomb! I made brown rice to serve them on and broccoli slaw with peanut dressing. Yummy! The photo doesn't show fresh ginger. I keep my ginger roots in the freezer to store them longer. Always hated finding those dried out ginger roots in the crisper.

Bones turned 14 April 12. I had to get his "birth certificate" out to double check the date. Loved reading his relatives' names. His dad was Snoopy and his grandfather was Festus. Grandma was Sprinkles. Great Grandma was LuLu! That's what I call my Hollywood! Funny! Bones is pictured with some bearded gentlemen who used to be my little boy.

We didn't have a party for Mr. Bones, but he did get a container of Mighty Dog for dinner. He loved it! He normally only eats dry food. Don't feel sorry for him, the dry stuff is usually topped with meat and broth from our meals. He may be spoiled.

Last Saturday was Sew Day for our guild. I had Friday off, so it was a perfect weekend to get the chores done early and goof off the entire weekend. Greek layer dip was my potluck dish. It's easy and quick.

There's hummus on the bottom, feta cheese, scallions, olives, cucumber, tomato, and parsley. Serve with pita chips. The dip can be made ahead of time or served immediately. I love this stuff so much.

I finished the CatVent quilt Sew Day. Yay! I like how it turned out. The blocks were fun to make.

The back is a mess, but I was determined to get rid of that mottled gray fabric from my stash. I have no idea where it came from. There were just a bunch of wide strips.

I hope your weekend is wonderful. What's everyone up to?

Sunday Stash #81

It all started with this kitchy food print a little instigator brought to my attention. That, and I'm a sucker for food prints.

I mean, who can resist anthropomorphic foods? Me, that's who. I sure love Mr. and Mrs. Chick-n-corn.

Red and white gingham My favorite color combo for gingham, but I'll take gingham in any color.

Bacon. I had this bacon print, but this is what happens when you shop away from your fabric stash. And you're hungry. And out of bacon. At least I have fabric bacon.

These kettle grills look familiar too, but so far I haven't unearthed a piece of it in my stash. Maybe I've just seen it in a fabric shop in the past.

Kind of a small haul, especially since I haven't bought fabric in eons. It was a fun haul though! Stay tuned, I did a little online shopping last week and received the Modern Quilt Guild Michael Miller challenge fabric. It's so pretty!

Teen Free

My youngest turned 20 at the end of March, so I did what any kooky mama does and got her a bounce house for her party.

A Justice League bounce house no less. Hollywood's charge thinks he's Batman, so it seemed appropriate since he would be at the party.

Here's the birthday girl. Boy, was she excited! She's never had a bounce house or trampoline, the poor little thing. Such a sweet girl, I would have bought her a pony if Inspector Gadget would let me.

Hollywood's charge stayed in the bounce house all day. I tried bouncing too. Hollywood could do actual flips. I stuck to bouncing. And a stick removal at one point. That kid could find a stick in the desert, but sticks and bounce houses don't mix well. Happy to say I made it through the terrible teens, and it wasn't that terrible.
